Great speed and determination but an unlucky race for both Snipers
20 March 2022Opaque Sunday for Team Snipers
3 April 2022
Río Hondo - Argentina, 2 April Unusual qualifying day. All free practice sessions and official qualifications all on the same day. Short time to process the informations even less to intervene on the bike in search of the optimal feeling. The watchwords are precision and speed, in a day with such a fast pace as not to allow mistakes.
Extremely complicated first round, track conditions are not the best with a lot of dust in the corners of the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit. The Team uses the round to work on all the areas of criticism, looking for the best possible grip and speed in view of the second session.
FP2 in which the Snipers Team, after the hard work of the first session, finds a smile with Andrea Migno. The rider from Cattolica with an excellent fourth time gains direct access to Q2 to play for pole position.
Demonstrating more difficult free practice sessions for Alberto Surra who, at his first experience on the Argentine circuit, cannot find the right lap to avoid the passage from Q1, which he will not be able to overcome. It will start from box number 25.
Q2 characterized by the usual Moto3 strategy: everything is played in one lap at the end of the time limit. Andrea Migno finds a great lap with 3 positive sectors out of 4, however, for a few hundredths of a second, he won't get the first two rows. He will start in eighth position.
Tomorrow's warm up will be essential to find the hundredths on the race pace necessary to aim for victory.
Mirko Cecchini - Team Owner: “A day that was undoubtedly complicated, the free practices showed a great lack of grip on the track, which we had to fill by continuing to work on the bike. Tomorrow the warm up will be essential to do the last tests in view of the race, we want to be competitive "
